You misunderstanding M.Covel's book and those turtle system. A good system do not need to change parameter for different products (Ed Seykota in Trend following mentioned that!). A good mechanical system is a system which can trade all types of products without changing parameter. You fine tune everything and I think you overtune at the end.
EMA + SMA? That is the sign of overtuned!
