That's the way a great trade should be....... Cut the losses, reverse to new positions and ride the big trend! I am with you on this as I had been doing that for the past 8 years! Cheers!

I started trading in 1990. I have experienced losing a lot of money.
After being introduced by a friend about turtle trading i realised how stupid I was.
Now I am trading profitabily. I just follow my MA indicators which I have backtesting for many years.
I can now make an average of RM7,000/mth/lot based on the current market sentiment.
I have learned my lesson very well.
Now is picking the fruits.

Wow! Indur hedge fund. You are my sifu then! Almost 20 years of trading! So, it proves that trend following did works!Instead of utilising MA, I prefer breakout system. Meaning, it is either long when it breaks up or short when it shoot down. In another words, it is merely a buy high and sell low. But,my main system derive from turtle theory too......
Cheers, man!

Breakout systems does not work.

I have used the system and i lost a lot of money.

Based on your recent trading position, it shows that you have bought at the highest and unfortunately the price made a reversal.

Instead, i made a handsome profit.

care to share why breakout cannot work? To be honest with you; before my first post on the recent long positions, my accumulated profit from 15th Jan till 15th June is a handsome return of 120% from my capital. I choose to start my blog recently as I had just gave up on nurturing a new group of trend follower on my own. So, the last losses is really a small and tiny losses for me.

Anyway, I am not trying to show how good I am. It is just that I had been utilised breakout system for the past 8 years and it works well for me on cpo, fkli, london cocoa, tokyo rubber and few spot currency. Hence, I was quite surprised on your claim that breakout will not work. Care to share your strategy here? Probably an example on how you spot your latest short postions as mentioned. Anyway, you trade other commodities? You trade currency too?

By the way, I do use different approach on HangSeng Futures and mini Hangseng Futures. The entry is a pure breakout system, but the exit is a pure fibonacci system. You trade HangSeng? Care to share your strategy?
Thanks for sharing......

I trade in all markets.

My indicators suit all markets.

I understand the concept of breakouts and I have tested it. During whipsaw you can loose a lot and probably your capital.

I am a trend follower trader.

Since Jan 2008 I have made 500% profit on CPO based on the current margin. If 10000 is the margin for CPO I have made 500% i.e 50,000 profit. I can proof it to you.

See my blog.

My trading is now more towards scientifically done.

You made only 120%. That is also good as long as you dont loose money.

BTW, never trade on a daily basis (daytrader)

Yeap. I have to agreed that breakout system did badly during consolidation /whipsaw period.

Bro, no need to prove it to me. I understand how trend following works and I believe a good trend following system can easily generate 500% or even more of return yearly return.

Yeap. I never belive that a trader can made money through daily intraday trading unless it is the spot forex which is also limited to few products only.

Anyway, it had been quite nice chit-chat with you.(you know lar....how many trend traders in Malaysia?)So, will jump in to your blog again when I free.... maybe can pick up a few lessons from you. Cheers!

CPO Trader,

Make your trading as simple as possible.

Actually it is very easy to make money when you are used to your trading models.

Once you can follow your trading models, then the sky is the limit.

You can beat Soros and others.
